Museum of Art and Folk Traditions – the culture of plaster, Magliano Alfieri
The museum documents a very special technique that was commonly used to decorate the ceilings of the humble rural homes of Roero, Asti and Ovada. These load-bearing structures were made of plaster panels which were poured in place in frames formed by large and small wooden beams, over a wooden matrix that printed a decorative motif on the plaster panel.
