PROPOSAL FOR INDIVIDUALS


In 2015 a large area of the Apennines, which begins with the Castle of Torrechiara and ends over the ridge toward the sea of Tuscany, was recognized as a Man & Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO due to the ability of its inhabitants over the centuries to preserve environmental integrity and create exceptional products such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma, to name only the most famous. A few months later, Parma itself was named a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
Also in 2015, in southern Piedmont, the natural landscape and human action created a unique setting, recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: the Langhe, with their characteristic landscape of combed vineyards and dotted with castles; and Roero, with its sandy Rocks, offering views of unexpected beauty and the story of a territory that makes great wines and culinary excellence the essence of its identity.

We therefore propose a journey through nature and the art of beauty and goodness: between the Castles of Parma and the Langhe, ancient medieval churches, the scents of vineyards and woods, and delicious tastings of unique products.

First day, Sunday: The hills of Parma and its typical products
Arriving in the Parma Apennines, lies a small village of rare beauty, Torrechiara only 18 km from Parma, where a good breakfast in the fifteenth century Piazza Leoni and a special handbook of the Appenine flavours that will accompany you in your stay.
The visit begins with an appointment from another time, in fact Bianca Pellegrini is waiting to accompany you in her castle, with the story of the characters\' events that have lived here over the centuries. In nearby Langhirano, you will find the open doors of a ham factory to see how Parma ham is made and the show that is offered in the aging cellars, ending with an exclusive wine tasting in the afternoon, and any other questions on the delicate ham will be answered at the dedicated Museum , still in Langhirano.
In the evening transfer to the small hotel with a Dinner based on local cuisine.

Second day: Parmigiano Reggiano from beginnings to the finished product

The day will include the plunge into the world of one of the excellent products of the Highlands of Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano. After breakfast, a local dairy farm will welcome you to see the birth of Mountain Parmigiano Reggiano . In fact, the day will be dedicated to the Highlands, discovering the villages of the Apennines, a refuge for great artists, painters and poets... with our Handbook you can fully enjoy them.

Third day: Discovering Parma towns and the City of Parma

The day will include a \'guided tour\' of the Village of Sala Baganza and the Park of Carrega Woods before reaching the City of Parma that, thanks to the instructions in the Handbook, you can visit without any problems with the suggestions of those who know it because they live here. Routes through history, traditions, seeking spiritual places or leisure oases for the palate: whatever your interests, and your means of transportation, Parma will not disappoint. The city, with its intimate historic centre, invites you to stroll slowly, to savour the elegant palaces, monuments, squares and hidden corners in addition to its excellent products.

Fourth day: Departure for Alba, the capital of the Langhe

Arriving in Langa you can not miss Alba with its historic centre, the capital of the Langhe and the city of the \'hundred towers\': the urban fabric tells of the ancient Roman Alba Pompeia, to the medieval towered city, through to the story of the partisan memories narrated by Fenoglio, until you get to the tracks of the new industrial capital, place of production of excellence known worldwide.

By nightfall a small rooftop hotel will welcome you for the night and a delicious dinner in a typical tavern serves Langa products.

Day Five: The Langa of Barolo

The day will be dedicated to one of the leading products of the Langhe, Barolo, which takes its name from the town at the centre of which stands the Falletti Castle which houses the WiMuthe innovative wine museum.
In the museum the wine route is celebrated in history and art, cuisine, and in film, music and literature, in the universal myths and local traditions. The Museum is also a tribute to the history of the castle and the famous people who have lived here: the Marquise Juliette Colbert and the patriot Silvio Pellico.

In the afternoon a panoramic route through the villages of Barolo, among the scents of vineyards the succession of countless wineries will be at the centre of your attention, culminating in a tasting in a historic cellar.

Sixth day: the Roero and its wines, the Moscato hills

On the last day the route continues through Roero, the territory that extends to the left of the river Tanaro, characterized by typical \'Rocks\', a peculiar geological phenomenon that has created a landscape characterized by deep ravines.
Visit the castle of Magliano Alfieri, which houses the Popular Arts and Traditions Museum with the original section dedicated to plaster ceilings and, since 2015, the \'Theatre of the landscape\', a new section dedicated to the hills and river landscape of the Langhe and Roero: the museum is a real multimedia journey. Following a delicious tasting of meats and cheeses, including the characteristic \'crutin\', in the cellar of the Roero, carved into the rock.
You continue through the Barbaresco Langa and reach the Mango Castle, In the village that will show you the prized vineyards of Muscat and hazelnuts, another typical product of the Langhe, the famous \'Tonda gentile.\' Also in the castle a tasting will be waiting for you at the Enoteca Regionale del Moscato, where the Muscat and traditional sweets made with hazelnuts can not be missed.

The package fee is 530.00 euros per person, including:

- 5 nights accommodation with breakfast at hotels;
- 2 dinners at typical restaurant/ tavern (beverages excluded)
- 5 visits and tastings in wine cellars and typical products companies in both the Parma Apennines and in Langa
- Entrance to the castle of Torrechiara (guided tour only on Sundays - Monday closed);
- Admission to the Museum of Prosciutto;
- Entrance to WIMU, Barolo castle;
- Entrance to the Castle of Magliano Alfieri;

The price does not include: transport, the city tax (to be paid directly in cash at the hotel), drinks with meals, extras and anything not mentioned in \'the price includes\'.
